The great thing about a Scottish self catering holiday is being able to load the car up at a moment’s notice, and just take off for the hills.
You don’t have to worry about parking at the airport, whether you can sit together on the flight, what your resort will be like, how little you’re getting for your pound, and whether the kids might get food poisoning. Unlike travelling abroad, you can relax immediately, and just get on with enjoying yourselves.
Our luxury holiday cottages are better than a home from home. You have all the security of knowing our accommodation is checked and tested by Visit Scotland; our cottages have brand new state of the art appliances, super-efficient heating systems, 3 en-suite bedrooms with super-king sized or twin beds, private gardens and all the space and relaxation you could wish for. And you can bring the dog too.
And there’s no shortage of fun things to do, regardless of the weather. Outdoorsy types love the forests and mountains of Perthshire for walking, cycling and skiing. The area boasts some of the best cycle tracks in Britain, and offers a range of terrain for all abilities. For older kids, and big kids everywhere, canoeing, kayaking and white water rafting provide plenty of splashy fun on the River Tay. Or gentler riverside activities include fishing or panning for gold. Who knows, you might strike rich!
And the dynamic cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh are within easy reach. Nearer to home, Perth, Stirling, Blairgowrie and Pitlochry offer a range of museums, castles, distilleries and theatre to delight everyone in the family. The area is rich with history and folklore, and no visit is complete without visiting Scone Palace, where 42 Scottish kings were crowned, and The Wallace Monument in Stirling, famously commemorating the life of William Wallace. Watch the film, Braveheart, for a reminder!
